NCTE 2024 In Boston!
David and I had a blast at NCTE in Boston this past weekend! We talked on a panel about sporty books, chatted with educators from all over the country, and met up with author friends. Thank you to teachers who are out there getting books into kids’ hands!

So thrilled to learn that Play Like a Girl was selected for the 2025 Choose to Read Ohio (CTRO) booklist! This honor is selected by Ohio teachers, librarians, and other advocates for readers and reading. Each CTRO booklist features 20 representative titles for all ages by creators born in, residing in, or associated with Ohio.

We are so excited to share that Play Like a Girl has been nominated for Maryland’s Black-Eyed Susan Book Award for the 2024-2025 school year! We cannot thank the Maryland Association of School Librarians enough for this honor. We Won Ohio’s Buckeye Book Award!
Super excited to announce that Play Like a Girl won the Buckeye Children’s Book Award for grades 6-8 in an online voting process by young readers all across the state of Ohio. It’s so great to see so many young readers enjoying Play Like a Girl. Thanks to the Buckeye Book Awards and teachers, librarians, and kids all around Ohio!

Loved meeting readers today at Books by the Banks. We were blown away by the number of teachers and librarians who brought their copies from school to get signed!

We were at the Columbus Book Festival, chatting on a panel about graphic novels!
Los Angeles Times Festival of Books
We flew out to Los Angeles, California to attend the LA Times Festival of Books as panelists and talked with some super awesome authors/artists about creating middle grade graphic memoirs.
The Ohioana Book Festival
We attended the Ohioana Book Festival in Columbus, Ohio and got to catch up with some author friends!
