About

Misty Wilson is the author of Play Like a Girl, her debut middle-grade graphic memoir, which won the Buckeye Children’s Book Award, earned a starred review from Booklist, and was a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection. Misty is a licensed preK-5 teacher, a registered nurse, and a voracious reader. She loves binge-watching television series and adores rom-coms. She lives in Northeast Ohio with her husband, David Wilson, illustrator of Play Like a Girl, and their two daughters.

• She’s a nocturnal creature who HATES getting up early.
• Some of her favorite TV shows are Julie and The Phantoms, The Bear, Never Have I Ever, Ginny and Georgia, and, of course, Gilmore Girls.
• Some of her favorite adult books include Every Summer After, Love and Other Words, People We Meet on Vacation, and all things Taylor Jenkins Reid. Some favorite kidlit books include Some Mistakes Were Made, Better Than the Movies, The Summer I Turned Pretty series, The Unteachables, and Shug.
